Blackbeard was born and raised with the Western Dwarves. Like most dwarves he excelled at craft skills and took up the traditional skill of smithing. He was a good smith and was especially talented at axes, his personal favorite weapon.
But Blackbeard was known for having a terrible temper. Because of this he had few friends and fewer associates. His best friend was his smithing hammer and the forge where he spent most of his time. One day he had been working on an axe/pike that he was especially proud of when he overheard a dispariging remark. Thinking it was about his latest creation, Blackbeard took offense and promptly insulted the originator of the comment. They were drunk and didn't take to kind to the words and Blackbeard didn't back down. A scuffle ensued and Blackbeard ended up burying his axe in the back of his opponents head. Another apprentice came running to see what was going on just in time to see Blackbeard apparently murder a fellow dwarf. Not waiting to stick around and try to explain himself, Blackbeard fled. He hide and listened to the rumors, all of which condemned him and labeled him a murderer. Dwarven justice does not look kindly upon murderers, especially when the one murdered was a popular dwarven leader.
So Blackbeard made haste out of the lands of the dwarves, during this time he had a few scuffles with the gaurds trying to apprehend him and was seriously injured on the left side of his face and head. Trying to survive in the wilderness with minimal equipment, the wound became infected and Blackbeard became rather ill. An unknown druid found the feverish dwarf and healed him and brought him to the human city. Here he recovered, though his consitution had been seriously harmed.
His skills in the forgehouse easily surpassed all the human smiths and his wares became quite popular, especially his axes. During this time he met a man named Maccadee and they became business associates.
Not above any sort of shady or even outright illegal dealings. However, isn't partial to pure evil. But if there is something in it for him and the repercussions are slim to non he would probably do it. Has no respect for the law except what they can enforce, but believes in honor among thieves and the Code of the Street.
