Griffon Wood

The Griffon Wood has stood for ages and has resisted even the most ambitious pioneers. It lies in Volkrad in a valey between the Trolls Tooth Mtns and the Dravldoss Mtns, west of LaForge.

Inhabitants include all manner of natural beast that live in temperate forests as well as magical beasts.

Rumors of that a tribe of Canibals lived there for many ages and their spirits still haunt the ruins of temples they built.

There is one ancient road through the forest that is believed to be be enchanted as it never seems to be overgrown or need repair despite little use. Possibly built by the original Tyrian empire, although there isn't much evidence they reached this far. It leads from Bandur to Gellius and cuts 3 days off the journey from one to the other.

Various Bandit gangs have made camp in the forest and harrased the roads travelers over the years. Most recent (year 1030) is the Black Band.
